Laidback Luke has been jumping on trends like nobody’s business lately. After artists like Tchami and Oliver Heldens brought the rise of future house to the public eye, Laidback Luke popped right in on that trend and tried really hard to explain what it was to the world in a series of interviews and tweets.
He brought it upon himself to be EDM’s spoke person for future house, soon after making it clear that his Alex Metric remix fell under this category and that it was a new palette and landscape for EDM artists to explore. Luke mentioned “That to me is basically deep house garage mixed down in an EDM vibe,” along with the tweet below.
Now the Dutch producer has taken this one step further, announcing today that his labelMixmash Records would be launching their own sub-label by the name Mixmash Deep. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Anjunabeats with Anjunadeep, Spinnin with Spinnin Deep, and now Laidback Luke has decided he should probably get in on this too.
You can get a feel for this on the preview of their upcoming Mixmash Deep Selection EP, set for release on May 25th and so far showcasing three deep sounding tracks. Their philosophy is simple: “To release club music from a wide range of facets of the current sound of the underground,” and they are aiming to “Compliment the progressive sounds of Mixmash Records with a wide range of fresh, new music every month.”
